Hi all,
I’am an old user of Avast Home Free Edition (even when it was oldest versions), and I would like to mention that neither for the Web Scanner (where I DO specofy NOT to scan specific sites that I trust the content), or for the Standard Scanner (where I DO specify to scan ONLY files with the specific extentions proposed), those Personalized settings are kept.
They automatically revert to standard ones ? Is it a feature of Avast Home Free Edition ?
No, avast should kept customized settings.
Are you logged as the administrator? Which is your operational system?
Hi Tech,
First of all, I’m sorry in the delay of my response, I was in contact with Microsoft for other problem no at all related with this one, except I got a Virus on my previous Vista version that Avast could NOT rid me of - even if protected with Avast, Windows Defenfer, and what they call Windows Firewall, and I had to re-install Vista Home Premium Edition SP1 on another partition - Raid 0 ==> 8h work).
I’m running Vista Home Premium Edition SP1 (French edition) with last security patches.
I’ve got only one user which is administrator of the PC.
I had to de-activate "Analyse files created/modified the Scanner advances option in the “Bouclier standard” option, and to declare confident sites I do not want to be checked in the “Bouclier Web” but keeping in “Normal Sensibility” to get them kept.
I feel that strange : if you have a personalized setting, to me you set, it the Resident Protection in the personnalized settings and that’s all !!! and it keeps it !!!
Anyway, I now have 2 Antivirus runnning Avast + AVG 8.0.138 even if I know 2 antivirus at the sametime is not a real good deal. As a Computer Engineer (not specialized in PCs, specially on Vista with a pure sh.t), I do NOT want to spend my nights to re-install it, all the patches and all my daily used applications.
Any further help from you be greatly appreciated?
Cheers,
Laurent06
Although it’s possible on Vista, I really do not recommend using the second resident antivirus, unless you want to spend your nights reinstalling Windows…
Do you mean your settings aren’t saved?
If you uninstall AVG, will it help?
