hi, I was wondering if I could install Avast home free security on my school, I’m a student but I have the permission of my teacher, it’s said that avast home security should only be used for non-commercial usage, so I want to let clear that I’m talking about a government school, which is well, free, from the gov, I have fear that some “smarty-pants” students may install viruses on the machines to steal data or destroy them (which happened on the past), so I wanted to install some AV at it and I got permission from my teacher to do so, the problem is, the only av that I trust and know, atm, is Avast, but the school is from the gov and I don’t think theyre going to buy it, first because the govern barely cares much about cybersecurity and what happens with the students’ pcs and Avast home edition is for “non-commercial use”, the school is free and not commercial, so I thought it’s ok to do so, the problem resides in its name “Avast home edition”, the final question is, could I install it on my school, to make everyone safe? It’s not for commercial purposes, it’s a government public school with good computers that I wouldn’t like to lose, since we do our programming classes there.
If you use Win10 you already have antivirus https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/windows/comprehensive-security
windows seven.
on win7 you also have microsoft security essentials, but if you really do want to get avast and can’t get your school to pay it just use the free version anyways.
The problem is, I like avast and I don’t to feel bad if it isn’t allowed, that’s why I asked that here;
But thanks btw! I hope it is allowed since the school is public and free, so I think that it doesn’t counts as commercial-usage;
The only limitation at this case is just cant use it at school servers (in fact cant use home edition at any Windows Server). Use only at studient devices
I’m afraid you cannot.

This link is for Avast Business, not for Avast Free Antivirus. Avast Business has a special discount for EDU, but it’s not FREE.

This is an older (2012) promotion (not available in all countries) with Avast Endpoint Protection Suite, a dislisted product.
