??? When i downloaded my version of avast 4 home i noticed in the program it says REGISTER and end of trial date! I thought the program was free!

and who says registration can’t be for free? 
All we want you is to register your copy of avast - free of charge. You then get a permanent license key. Navigate your browser to www.avast.com and select “avast Home Registration” (e.g. in the Support menu).
