Avast! Home on a non-U3 USB?

I am looking for a portable app for avast! for my USB drive. I had U3 before and got rid of it and installed portable apps (best thing I ever did with my USB drive).

I got Skype working on it and I got CCleaner, about to go for spybot. I would love to be able to use Avast! on my USB.

I did a search, found a similiar post with no replies.

It’s not possible to make avast portable due to low level drivers, services and registry keys needed for its working. There is avast for DOS… I know it’s not the same, for instance, you won’t have resident protection.
