In Lithuania was made free CD called “Protect Your PC”, with a lot of security tips and all possible needed security programs (freeware and trial) what is needed to basic protection against all todays internet threats. avast is not an exeption. Home version is added to antivirus cathegory. This CD was distrubuted with very popular here Kompiuterija PC World magazine at no charge. I think it’s very good desicion, as many computer users don’t know even computer security basics. This CD is made to help them.
Just wish something like that was available elsewhere for people to get and understand what is needed on their computer to make it smooth running and for security and protection.
This has been happening in US for many years … though they are not totally free. These types of cds can be had by buying certain issues of computer magazines like PC Magazine, PCWorld, etc. Many times, these will be included with a December or January issues of such magazines.
