I have encountered an error with avast today ‘‘RPC error unable to complete your request.Fatal error’’ ??? I use avast on two OS windows xp and windows 7.My problem started today in windows 7.I’m not infected because I have malwarebytes pro on along with avast home,I didn’t had any problems since I installed avast on 7 after it was released the RC.How do I fix it?
Can you try to repair your installation?
Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove programs > avast! antivirus > Remove. Then choose Repair function in the popup window (Repair).
If this does not help, can you uninstall / boot / install / boot again?
Do you have any other antivirus installed in your computer?
Did you have in the past? Which one?
Do you use a firewall? Which one?
Also, take a look into Administrative Tools > Services
and see how the four avast services are set to start (automatically or manual).
Hi and thanks for your replay.I fixed it but not with repair .I used aswclear*the uninstall utility( in safe mode and then I reinstaled avast.It wasn-t avast problem it was a failure due abad driverwhich caused multiple bluescreens and then it send avast into RPC error.Thanks for your time,I realy love avast it is doing a great job on my computer and I can-t wait the new release v 5.I know it-s still beta but I-ll get it as soon as it will be on the market.

hi, i am using windows 7 ultimate and avast in getting any update. and when i tried to ubinstall it came up with a msg," avast updater is running, cant uninstall untill update is complete.
