Well, we can’t say that anything should be a part of the free antivirus.
They can or could do or add a feature but you can’t force them too. Remeber it’s a free antivirus.
There is a report and logs for the Home (free) version. But you cannot work with the results (rescan, repair, save, etc.).

Thanks for the reply.
No you can’t force somebody to do something, but that’s not the point. The point for me is that I have a scanlog. You make a point out of it being FREE. I have had other AV’s that were free, and had this option.

And have a look in \Avast\data\log (as well as in the settings section)
Have checked the whole Avast program including the Avast\data\log and the info I want isn’t there. The settings if you mean the pulldown(pullup) in Avast can’t be accessed, as they are greyed out. Or am I looking in the wrong area here ???
And a lot of others are missing… Tons of others…
Avast free is the major competitor of Avast Pro in my opinion 8)
Too good to be truth
Anyway, it’s your right, like any user, to ask for one more (or new) feature
Look into avast Log viwer to see the ‘errors’.
Look at the *.txt files into the \report folder to find the ‘scan results’.

I guess we could debate this stuff all day. I respect your opinion, and I myself find the Avast Program terrific. Very thorough, many features, ease of use. I would still like to see this feature in the Free ed. ;D ;D

You need to enable generation of scan report in program settings first.
The Professional Edition gives you more comprehensive overview of all the tests performed in the past as well as easy ways to manage the test results (infected and untestable files etc).
What is it that you are trying to get out of a log of scanned results?
There is a temporary report displayed directly after a scan, this will (as far as I am aware) display results depending on your settings. Does that not meet your needs?
If we know exactly what information it is that you are we may be able to point to something.

Yes I have seen this temporary report, but I also think I have found what I’m looking for in these.
