They have now released a upgrade to the suite which fixes the blow outs well till the next time check it out here https://forums.comodo.com/feedbackcommentsannouncementsnews_cis/comodo_internet_security_313120417573_released-t47733.0.html
That’s pretty good turnaround; looks like it fixes most of the new problems. I have never understood why they don’t use the mods (or somebody) to beta test their upgrades, but that is their decision. Must be in pretty good shape, though, since I also see they are adding a browser to their menagerie, based on Chrome. Don’t know why the world needs another one, but a little surprised they are doing this instead of spending more effort on the long list of problem reports and wishlist items with their suite. Saw some verbage about protection against DV certificates, but at least Opera already does that. I have a padlock on the tabs line that shows the class of certificate for an https site, warns you if you click it what a class 1 is, and does a fraud check for any site. Just another product I’ll never try.
lol lol lol lol lol lol lol etc… ;D ;D ;D ;D
I just cannot believe that; thanks to your post sded I just checked and they indeed offer a browser, a freaking browser, based on Chrome… and better than Chrome of course…called Comodo Dragon; I’d better keep my mouth shut before I tell you guys what you can do with your browser 8) :-X
You must be joking!!! shakes head and cries Oh…Your not! :o https://forums.comodo.com/beta_corner-b194.0/
Well who’s gonna be the first to download it?..Anyone…?
What has this topic got to do with Avast home vs CIS (…) Part 2 of the title, it just seems like another Update plug for CIS ???
Why the reference to Part 2, unless you are trying to open the can of worms of the other topic which got shut down ???
No worms! Ants maybe but no worms and why is it called part 2 well part 1 was closed so this is part 2. So part 2 follows where part 1 left off. As for plugs they go in baths and sinks, none of that here!
I downloaded CIS and found scanning very fast with very small amount of memory <20 Mb total.
No malware found but guess detection rate increased a lot since earlier versions.

Welcome to CIS
I can see you are a great fan of CIS…
But dont recommend it too much here… (avast forum)
maybe many people might use CIS instead of avast 8)
(just kidding, that is very impossible)
Nah I am not really a fan just trying to counteract all the FUD about people in here saying the AV part of CIS is not good enough. In saying that it works well for me at this moment in time, when Avast 5 comes out I will deffo give it a spin on my computer for that matter why no 4.9 why st8 to 5?
Who says there will be no 4.9, a major update like this would normally be a full ordinal increment, e.g. 4 - 5, etc. Whilst it is highly unlikely that there will be a 4.9, 4.8 will continue to be supported for a while.
I doubt there would be any major functionality changes warranting a .1 increment rather than what we see build number increments, like 4.8.1356 to the latest 4.8.1368. This means that any changes to 4.8 would theoretically still mean win9.x winME users can still use it for a while.
Since version 5.0 is such a massive update (and won’t support win9.x or winME) there is no way it would warrant only a .1 incremental version update.
Just my thoughts.
@ patrice58 : no offense but you realize that the way you post on these forums (Avast’s), without running any avast stuff and mainly posting in CIS related threads make you sound like a Comodo ambassador don’t you… might not be your motivation nor your purpose, but still, it’s kinda weird. I myself have been posting on both forums, but I’m running both products. I don’t post anymore on Comodo’s but that’s another story. I posted there because I run CPF then CFP then CIS, and been beta testing there too, 2.5 and 3.0 to be precise. Posting on a forum where you’re not involved into anything but are just commenting on other products is… well you got the idea ;D
Well if you look in the original Avast home vs CIS thread you would see why I am posting. You said the same thing in my earlier thread but ya know I won’t hold being creepy against you it’s just the way you are. (To everybody else that was off topic but he knows and I know what I am talking about.)
