Avast huge files in Windows 10 > AppData

Hello,
I need some help please.
I have Avast Free Antivirus v 20.8.2432, with Virus definition v 201105-0.
I want to save some space on my Windows 10 Pro C: drive, at C:\Users\Philip\AppData\Local\AVAST Software\Browser\User Data.
The Avast files take up a massive 2Gb! Is this necessary, or can I remove some old files?
How do I do this please?
Sincerely,
Philip Tory

Hi, these files are part of Avast Secure Browser.
If you don’t want/need ASB, you can uninstall it.

Taking a stab in the dark here, but if they are related to ASB, then if they are in the User Data sub folder, is that likely to be browser history, etc. If so couldn’t they clear the browser cache from within ASB ?

But if the OP hasn’t been using ASB then I don’t know how this could be that large. I only used the ASB for a few months and it never grew that large.

Hi Dave, good point, just had a look and mine is around 450 MB. So, it’s worth a try.
