avast icon always in animation

Just installed Windows 7 Pro + all updates and Avast Antivirus Pro (latest version)

I did a full system scan as well but even when my system is idle, the avast icon is always in animation as if it were doing something

what gives?

BTW, does avast! Antivirus do white-listing? like would it keep scanning files even if they were previously scanned?

Nothing else installed I just said in the original post clean installation of Windows 7 + all updates.

Now it’s not spinning anymore so I don’t know what was up…
