hallo,
does someone know why avast icons doesn’t show up in the system tray?
I have already checked it in the properly configuration menu to make it happen but not is changed.
I’d like to config exchange/outlook features due to is too slow to open the items with file attached
Is it possible to config those feature in a diferent way.
I have home edition with wp prof and remote connection to exchange server
Thanks in advance for reply. :
- Check the option in the Appearance tab of settings.
or
- Repair your avast installation through Control Panel.
or
- Make a link to ashdisp.exe in your startup folder
or
- Add the path to ashDisp.exe into a value named avast! in the Windows Registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

If that does not help, please, uninstall, boot, install again, boot.
Do you have SpywareDoctor or any other antispyware tool installed?
thanks,
very quick and precise.
I have solved with the advise Nr 3
Thk again
That might well have resolved the issue but it hasn’t identified why it happened and Tech’s question “Do you have SpywareDoctor or any other antispyware tool installed?” may well help find the true cause.
So what other security based software do you have that might block new startup entries, e.g. Spybot S&D (TeaTimer), AdAware (AdWatch), SpySweeper, Spyware Doctor (StartUpGuard or OnGuard), PrevX, WinPatrol, ProcessGuard, etc. ?
It was a workaround… probably something is ‘removing’ the windows registry entry and messing avast installation.
Which other security program are you using?
