avast!icon in the browser bar is blocking social network sites

I have a small annoying problem with “avast! icon on the browser navigation bar”. The settings with regard to social network sites aren’t kept. The settings arent kept all together, for that matter. Whenever I start my browser (Firefox 25.0) the settings/the boxes are ticked as shown in the attached image. Result: when I want to share something via Sharethis on Twitter/Facebook, Avast!has blocked this. I regularly have to unblock this. Is there anyway solve this problem or do I have to remove this component as well?

I must say, since Avast!Internet Security is upgraded to version 9, I have more problems than in the previous version.

Thanks for the help.

edit: typo
edit II: which boxes are checked or not seem to differ site. For now, at most sites, all boxes are unchecked. At this site, the boxes are checked as shown in the image.
In general, the information of which companies ‘have tried to track your activities’ c.a. is non-existent: you cannot see which companies were tracking you.

It seems that for the Don’t track settings to be remembered, cookies must be retained. I’ve had no problem with the settings being retained using FF settings as per the attached screen shot.

I forgot to mention that since I installed the lastest AIS, the pc - when shutting down normally - would say: “operations are in progress”, please wait. The machine will be turned off automatically after the operations are complete". It would then take forever for the pc to shutdown. I’ve removed the “avast! gadget”, and my pc seems to shutdown normally. Now I would like to know how to remove avast!icon in Firefox. I feel that the gadget or this icon are responsible for my pc not shutting down normally (before I installed AIS, I did not have this problem).
