Avast icon is gone from the toolbar

Hello,
I was browsing the internet and somehow the Avast Online Security icon from the toolbar is gone. I have tried installing avast again but i got this message: There was an error during installation of the extension ‘avast online security’.
I’m using safari 6.1.6.
Hope somebody can help me???

Hi, same problem here. The icon disappeared some months ago. And I get no notifications (e.g. for updates) anymore. The app and the virus pattern seem to be actual. I am working with a standard account in MacOS. When I am switching to my admin account, the icon is back again. Deinstall and reinstall does not solve the problem.

Oh sorry, this is not the same problem. I misunderstood something in the original post:

I do not mean the Online Security icon in Safari. I am talking about the taskbar icon in MacOS (on the top of the screen).
