I just uspgraded from w98 to XP Pro and now the avast spinning ball does not appear anymore on the bottom of the task bar. How please do i get it back there - i see nothing in options to do that. Also how please do i get the program to open at startup as it used to.

Uninstall and then reinstall. It is always best to uninstall any AV and Firewall software before you upgrade the OS.
