I use a registered Incredimail version an use a lot of stationary when sending mail. I jest switched over to AVAST because I heard a lot of good things about it. And I must say, I’m not disappointed so far. ;D However I came across something strange when testing AVAST with Incredimail using stationary. I sign outgoing mail. But AVAST attaches both the HTML and the TXT clean message notes when sending. ??? :-[
Can I do something to solve this other then disabling the option.
I use the HOME Edition
Look in avast(avast On-acess protection) settings. you can disbale it.
right click on avast icon in tray…
I’m afraid MrBabis didn’t quite get the picture. Of course you can disable the function. My question was “how can I still have the option enabled but with only 1 clean note message being send instead of the 2 I now send”
Not having used Incredimail I can’t say for sure, but if you send email in html format you should only get the html clean note, if you send in text only format you should only get the text clean note.
However, if you use the mime format (may not be the correct term but combined text/html) so those who are using a text viewing email reader only will see only the text and those viewing with an html enabled email program will see only the html part. For this purpose it may be that avast is inserting two clean notes? Sending in this format increases the size of the email and to me kind of defeats the purpose of Incredimail, the smilies and image/graphic rich format.
Are you able to test this by sending a text format email, an html format email and a combined format email and see what the results are?
I’ve tested as good as Incredimail lets me. I found an option within Incredimail enabling “Plain text” mails. Obviously this works fine containing only the ‘Plain TXT’ clean text note.
There is also an option ‘No Background’. You produce a HTML-mail but no extra HTML-code inserted. Only the HTML-clean mail note is added.
But when I now add one emoticon or picture for example (still using the No Background option) I get both the TXT and the HTML clean note messages in my mail.
As a matter of fact; the whole presentation of the mail has changed. All extra pictures, background and/or emoticons are presented as separate attachments. So my stationary is no stationary any more but separate attachments.
How it looks like when I send the message
How I receive the message after avast! has scanned it.
That would appear to be how Incredimail works with stationary, after all it is just an image I believe and it would appear to be doing it using MIME format (This is a multi-part message in MIME format…) for those that can’t view Incredimail in its full graphic splendor.
So unless there is a way round this (via Incredimail support/forum), either it is no stationery, or exclude outbound email scanning of Incredimail emails; neither of which I suppose is satisfactory. So it shows when a multipart message is used there may be multi clean messages, unfortunately instead of only one being displayed they are both displayed by Incredimail.
I would also suggest a forum search for Incredimail as I’m sure this would have come up before.
