I recently downloaded avast 4.8 and saved it. I went to install it and got this message.
Windows cannot open this file:
file: setupeng4.8.exe-avast
To open this file, windows needs to know what program you want to use to open it. Can anyone please help me with this. Thanks
the avast! installer is called setuespro.EXE is an executable always or maybe a .msi installer check the properties of the files, if its another than .exe or .msi maybe you got a problem
Where did you download it from as the file is normally setupeng.exe no version number and no -avast after the .exe ?
I downloaded avast from PC World. I checked the properties of the download and it said under “opens with” -windows shell common?
I would suggest you get it direct from avast.com.
Download the latest version of avast, 4.8.1335 http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html and save it to your HDD, somewhere you can find it again.
