Avast seems to keep Weatherbug from operating normally. I put Weatherbug in the “exclusions” section of Avast.
Nothing seems to help.
Is there a way to totally exclude Weatherbug and updates to it from being scanned?
I really like Weatherbug and Avast.
Duffermax :-\
You should write the full path. The exclusion list is read as a ‘text’, for instance:
C:\Weatherbug*

Welcome to the forum.
Did you know that Weatherbug is considered adware since the free version is ad-supported.?
You can get more information about it HERE.
When Avast gives you the warning…highlight and copy the program path and then add that to the exclusions list. It should look like this C:\Program Files\AWS\WeatherBug\Weather.exe …I did this and now mine works right.
Good Luck!!!!
did anyone realize the last post on here before yours was @over a year and 8 months ago(march of 2005)…no harm intended -just seems like the problem was already solved long long ago :o
It returned again after 0645-0 VPS update as seen in other recent posts, this one by Scrooluce would at least put it back to the top and may be seen by those who use the forums search function (which we encourage) for weatherbug, etc. I believe this may have been cleared by 0645-1.
Why would any one use a program which if not spy-ware, is classified as Ad-ware when using
the free version. There are many other programs available which aren’t loaded with an
unwanted payload ???
Weather Pulse is just one of those alternatives.
