Avast Internet Security 2015 failing to update virus definitions

I have recently upgraded my Avast ‘Internet Security 2014’ to ‘Internet Security 2015’ & henceforth having trouble updating virus definitions.

I have set my virus definitions update settings to automatic. But I am observing that the virus definitions are not getting updated automatically & “Your virus definitions are out of date” pop-up is regularly displayed.

When trying to update the virus definitions manually, “Host Unreachable” error message is displayed.

I have never encountered any trouble updating virus definitions on Internet Security 2014 & do not have any problem with my internet connection.

Any help regarding the problem will be highly appreciated.

For a start perform a repair and see if that solves it.
If not, perform a clean installation of 2015.

I have the same problem. I did both repair and a clean re-installation. I still have same problem. Avast Internet Security 2015 cannot update virus definitions - the same “Host Unreachable” problem.

Next time, please start your own thread and do not post in a over 3 months old one.

Perform a clean installation of version 2015.10.2.2210 and see if the problem is solved.
Uninstall through control panel and use the uninstall tool prior to installing the latest version.
