Hello.

After installing a firewall will not boot, manual is also not to run. All the other guards work. Symptom occurs on two of my computers! Both computers have done the update from Avast 4 Pro. Reinstalling also nothing helped.

  1. system restart
  2. Start Windows in Safe Mode.
  3. Use the Avast remove utility(aswClear.exe) to remove programs(Avast 5 IS)
  4. windows restart
  5. If you have to install a Avast program(Avast 5 IS)
  6. restart
  7. enjoy

Have just done it. I used the latest version of Avast remove utility (aswClear.exe) and is still the same.
