i just installed it just now and i got 101231-1 virus definition…
my friend said that i have to update it immediately, so i click the update button to start the update…
the update task told me that i have the up-to-dated virus definition [110108], but when i looked again my definition version, it didn’t change… it was still 101231 [the old one]
now i’m kinda confused, does avast! always be like this?? if not, how to solve my problems?? thanks before…
The problem usually fixes itself when the next auto update happen’s, you could also download the 874 version and install over the top of your current as it has less problem’s.
This already happened to me sometimes… I update the Virus Database and says I updated from version 110107-1 to 110108-0 (per example). But when you click ‘OK’, avast! shows that you still have the old version (110107-1) and when you click to update, it shows you already have the last version (110108-0) and the same thing as described above will happen over and over again (I never tried a boot to see if the problem solves in that way but you can try).
The only solution I found is to wait for the next Virus Database update to fix everything up.
