Thank you. Lep pozdrav.

You have to uncheck the This server requires and encrypted connection (SSL) in the email program account settings, otherwise avast can’t scan the secure encrypted traffic. Avast will handle the encrypted connection.

Hi

Incoming server(pop3) has been changed to 110. Is this normal?

Avast doesn’t change your email account settings in the email program, which is showing POP3 as port 110 (normal non-ssl pop3 port). However, when you uncheck the This server requires and encrypted connection (SSL) option, the email program has recognised that you had a SSL port previously and changed it to the normal 110 port.

You will see in the avast SSL Accounts, it is using SSL to connect, so assuming everything is working (which you don’t mention), then there shouldn’t be anything to worry about.

Hi

Unfortunately I had to reinstall AIS AV program but here is my problem. AIS program/mail shield doesn,t recognize settings from Outlook 2007.

Thank you for your help. Lep dan.

I don’t know why this is the case this time round as previously (from your other images) it did create them. All I can suggest is that you create the entries manually in the avast Mail Shield SSL Accounts section.

I can’t be any practical help as I don’t use MS Outlook.

Hi

The problem was in Add-on Avast5(Exchange…) when I removed/diasble this add-on Avast automatically recognize settings from Outlook 2007.

PS:If I don,t bother you. Can you tell me "How to set Thunderbird and Yahoo email with AIS. What information do you need?

Have a nice day. Lep pozdrav.

For me thunderbird and my one Yahoo account were effectively set-up automatically. Though mine may differs as my account isn’t a direct Yahoo account but a British Telecom (BT) email account, BTinternet, but that is managed by BTYahoo. Weird I know, but it worked by default.

Yours you may just have to ensure the Server Settings for that account, Connection security are set to None. You should also check the Outgoing Server SMTP settings for that account also don’t use SSL.

I have one question-Is this what you hide personal email account/adress ( mail. xxxx @ yahoo.com)?

Thank you. Lep pozdrav.

Just that it doesn’t show yahoo as the mail server (otherwise it might be/look misleading), but that is effectively where it goes and that fact was picked up by avast and corresponding yahoo.com entries were created in the SSL Accounts section of the Mail Shield.

Hi

I’m definitely done something wrong in settings for AIS in Thunderbird(yahoo). Here is a picture.

Thank you for your time. Lep pozdrav.

It would be easier for you and others viewing the topic if you just attach the images (Additional Options in the Reply) rather than hosting them. That way we can open the image in the topic, like those I posted.

So which yahoo par isn’t working, POP3 or SMTP ?
If pop3 try changing the port to 995 and SSL or if that doesn’t work 110 and None.

Hi

When I get email via TB Avast doesn,t scan this email and nothing has been changed in Avast Mail Shield. Looks like I have wrong settings.

Thank you. Lep pozdrav.

But you still don’t say which particular account you have two POP3 accounts there and I have no idea where the Localhost SMTP account comes from. Or are you saying it isn’t scanning any POP3 accounts, if so that could be another problem if you happen to be using the beta build and and what OS it is running under, but I don’t know any of that as you are reluctant to create a signature in your profile.

If avast isn’t scanning it it is usually because it is still encrypted at source and your email client account settings are using SSL connection.

Other than the above, I’m out of ideas. However there is another topic were someone is having a similar problem with thunderbird and Yahoo/Verison accounts, you might try a search for that.

Edit: Found the topic, http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=67841.0.

Hi

I had completely wrong settings for Yahoo mail and Thunderbird. Now I have correct settings but I have a small problem: Avast scans only outgoing emails. What settings should I use for incoming emails?

Have a nice day. Lep pozdrav.
