Avast Internet Security and Itunes freezings and crashings.

Since i’ve been using avast internet security, when i try to do a search in the itunes store the app freezes, very annoying, when avast is deactivated i have no problems with the itunes app.

What is exactly the version of AIS that you using?

Is there any error notification when you run avast with itunes application?

Have you try to turn off firewall, and run itunes app. Afterthat you turn on again for firewall?

No error notification. only itunes freezes and have to force his close.

No ive not tried to turn off the firewall but i’ve tried to turn off all the shields then itunes works fine.

I deacivated the avast firewall a few minutes ago, no problems so far. However a yellow warning appears on the avast icon in the task bar, my system is not protected!

Settings > Status bar
There you can configure what will be monitored.

But i paid for a firewall.

Mmm. bad news guys the problem is back.

Do you mean you can’t activate the firewall?
Try to repair your avast installation, or even start from the scratch.
Also, did you have any other previous firewall installed?

no i didn’t mean that, i mean the main problem posted in the first post.

Any other previous firewall installed? apart for the one included in windows 7, nop.

Sorry, I do not use itunes, so can’t help further.

I have posted a support ticket for this twice and both have been deleted, why AVAST?

Im fed up with avast,the same problems after many weeks…

When I purchased my copy of Avast Internet security something happened with iTunes. After installing Avast! Internet Security iTunes wouldn’t open. It said some of the files were corrupt. A while later I re-installed iTunes and now this is happening. I’m trying to redeem songs from iTunes using a code and iTunes is taking forever. It says “Accessing iTunes store”. I’m going to let it run in hopes to get an error code but it’s been about 20 minutes now.

Is there something we should know about iTunes? Why is Avast! stopping me from redeeming my music?

Alright I let it run for hours! Nothing happened. I’m not going to turn off Avast! shields. Or anything like that. Anyone have a solution?

Why are you running an out of date Avast! and what is version 5.0.462 FGS Avast! ? Are you running a torrent version ?
