Is there a problem running both? Thanks in advance.
No there shouldn’t be a problem, though I would exclude the c:\windows\temp_avast_ folder, this is where avast unpacks/sends files to be scanned, so you don’t want to duplicate scans or interfere with avast scanning in this folder.
How do I find that folder and disable it? Thanks in advance.
You don’t have to find that folder, just copy and paste the c:\windows\temp_avast_ path into the SAS Scanning Control, Manage Excluded Folders…
I can’t find where the folder is. I am a beginner as far as computer knowledge. Your knowledge is up in the heavens. I am having a hard time understanding your answer. When I went to SAS Manage excluded folders and clicked on add it gave me folders such as desktop, libraries, homegroup, my computer.
What I think DavidR suggested is to add the following path:
c:\windows\temp\_avast_
in the exclusion / exception list of SAS Pro.
(you can select the above path and copy + paste it).
It also starts up by displaying a default folder like MyDocuments, just paste the path into that window.
Actually finding it should be no different than following a path in windows explorer, as the Browse window is the same. Click the Plus + character to the left of the My Computer, Then the + left of the C:, then the + next to Windows, then the + next to Temp, then select the avast folder.
