Avast Internet Security and Windows 7 problem

I am having a problem. I used the free version with no problem, last week I upgraded to premium and now everytime my computer goes to sleep, it won’t come back up! Then I get the message that windows was shut down improperly on the boot up. Is anyone else having this problem and how do I fix it? I was going to put it on my XP desktop, but now im scared.

Which was your old firewall?
Any other security program that could interfere?

I had Nortins internet security which I uninstalled before I installed the Avast free addition (which I had no problem with). This problem only started after I upgraded.

Ok, but now you have AIS (firewall)… Maybe a conflict with remains of Norton…

The Norton Removal Tool uninstalls all Norton 2003-2010 products from your computer.

  1. (If possible) Remove Symantec products through Add/Remove programs from Control Panel. Boot.
  2. Use Norton Removal Tool for Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7 or Norton Removal Tool for Windows 98/Me. Boot.
  3. Install avast! (or repair the installation) and boot.
