AVAST Internet security and windows 7 UAC problems

Every-time i boot my PC I get UAC warning asking me to give Avast permission to run, if i click on avast in my via my taskbar i also get UAC pop up asking me to give Avast permission etc. This happens each and every time i run my PC.

Now I’ve had this problem before and I fixed it by modifying the below registry value

“C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast\avastUI.exe” /nogui

to

“C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast\avastUI.exe /nogui”

I’ve noticed the above previous change has gone back to

“C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast\avastUI.exe” /nogui

So im guessing thats the issue, however this time I cant modify that data and i get the following error

cannot edit avast: error writing the value’s new content?

I’ve tried repairing the install, to no avail, I’ve also uninstalled avast, ran the avast wipe program from safe mode then reinstalled and nope its still happening, and nope I still cant edit that registry data.

I’m truly at my wits end on trying to figure wtf has gone wrong with avast, this only happened after the last program update…

I truly need help before I call it a day with Avast and spend my money somewhere else…

ok ive managed to sort the above problem, after manually removing avasts left overs within the registry (thats after uninstalling and running the removal tools) i was able to install Avast version 8 and before rebooting, i was able to modify the data string to look like this:-

“C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast\avastUI.exe /nogui”

and hey presto no more UAC issues, its seems the 2014 version really isn’t rdy to be let wild.
