I had to remove Avast from my computer because Avast Services used 50% of my CPU and prevented Windows 10 from working properly.
It literally froze my computer.
I am (or was) a long term customer of Avast.
Hoping that you will correct Avast behavior before many of your users leave your product behind.
I don’t know about the cpu usage but i also had to unistall avast due to performance issues, and i’ve been using avast for years =/ …windows wasn’t working properly, it was really slow, firefox freezing, nvidia experience only worked when avast was disabled etc. I’m just using windows defender at the moment, hope this gets fixed soon. Btw eddy what do you mean it’s microsoft’s fault ?!
When upgrading from Windows 7/8 it says everything is fine.
I’ve seen several systems where there weren’t even Windows 10 drivers for available and still the check said everything was supported >:(
It reminds me of Windows Vista.
The most horrible Windows version ever.
From the problems you’ve pointed out i’m experiencing none, used to have that start menu bug but it was months ago. I’m not a windows fan and I only use it because of the games. The fact is that Avast AV isn’t playing well with windows 10 at the moment (at least for me it wasn’t).
Consider yourself lucky for not having any of the problems.
It is not avast that doesn’t play well with Windows, it is the other way around.
And it is not just with avast, it has a problem with about all av’s.
Sad thing is that the problems where already known before the official release of Windows 10.
But as with many big companies, for MS it is (all) about the money >:(
We announced a release data and we are already overdue.
Let’s release it now and we will bring out updates/patches to fix the things later.
If we don’t the prices of our shares will drop and we will be less worth.
If we release it, people will buy it and we will make money.
That will keep our shareholders happy.
Respectfully, you are wrong…W8 #2 worst. ;D
…and the WINNER…Windows Millenium Edition (ie. Windows ME…short lived successor to W98…luckily XP came out)…maybe you are too young to remember it ?
Frequent Kernel issues that required complete O/S re-install and you lost ALL your info.
I’ve not had any issues with Win10 myself or the systems I’ve upgraded but there are reports of people with issues, I think most would be related to driver incompatibilities on some older systems like Vista and earlier.
I experienced one desktop system a few weeks ago which was newly/recently bought from a computer shop within the last 6 months with Win 7 installed, after upgrading to Win10 the Microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse wouldn’t work the reason was the keyboard an mouse was using Win95 drivers which was quickly solved with a new keyboard but that’s the only problem I’ve come across so far.
Disappointing that the computer shop which they bought the system through had sold them a system with such outdated hardware.
@BulmaSoft If you don’t want W10, going back to another version can be an option. I’m aware about the data MS collects from windows that’s why i block what I can (google also collects a lot of data from people but that’s “ok”, i bet avast also collects some), about cortana i’m just not a user. As I said before I use windows mostly because of gaming it’s still a “necessary evil”.
Windows is no more evil than OSX or Chrome or Linux.
No one seems to complain about Diri but in order for Siri to work properly, it collect just as much information as Cortana.
