I have Avast Internet Security 19.2.2364 (build 19.2.4186.437) and I started noticing that every 20 - 30 min. (sometimes even shorter) Avast suddenly take so much computing power that my mouse become erratic and any thing that I’m running or interacting with get interrupted. This feels like something that happened years ago, but has now resurfaced. It’s becomming extrememly distracting. I have trouble playing simple games or watching videos.
Hello
Have you tried going to ‘Settings’ and then ‘Troubleshooting’ and click on Add/Modify Components to make sure you only have components installed that you want/need. Components installed unnecessarily will use Resources.
I always do a “CUSTOM” install to ensure I install only what I need/want.
Update to the latest version (19.3.2369): https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=225874.0
How do I know which components to uninstall?
How do we know what you want / dont want ?
The screenshot will show what components I’ve installed on one of my machines at this time.
The SHIELDS listed on the left are the most important along with the Firewall.
The remainder of the components are available for those users that use them.
The more components installed the greater the potential for unwanted Resources used
It would also help to know what kind of hardware and software you are running.
