Avast Internet Security Disables Network Connection

Hi ,

I’m subscribed to Avast premium (internet connection) for a while now. Everything was fine until this morning when my computer lost it’s connection to the WiFi.

After checking many possible issues incl. resetting the network adapter, I realised it was the firewall.

The settings of my home netwoek did not change, they are still set to “private network” however the firewall still blocks it and I have to disable it to get online.

Any ideas how to fix it?

Repair Avast:

  1. Avast GUI → Settings → Troubleshooting
  2. Click on ‘REPAIR APP’.
  3. Follow instructions.
  4. Reboot.

Hi Asyn,

Thank you for this. I followed these steps and restarted, but unfortunately it’s the same. Even though the Wi-Fi network is set on private, it blocks it. I can only connect to the Wi-Fi when the firewall is off.

Any other ideas?

Set the Avast Firewall to private mode and reboot.
