Hi, I have been going over this over the last 2 days and found no fix:
When I try to send an email from outlook 2013 via my office 365 account (exchange server hosted by MS), mails don’t get sent as long as Avast Int Sec Firewall is on. As soon as I turn the firewall off it works like a charm.
I tried the following fixes found on these forums to no avail:
- Perform a clean install of LATEST Avast after using the avast cleaning tool first (and checking my device manager for remnants)
- Clear certificates
- Reinstall outlook & try different ver’s
- I even reinstalled win 10 using MS “Fresh Start”
- Unchecked “scan mail” checkboxes in avast
- Updated redirect settings (made sure there is no #s in ports there)
- Manually checked all firewall app settings & made sure all Microsoft apps are set to “ask” or “accept”.
Still the same effect. What can I do now… I called support but instead of even checking how this happens or trying to diagnose the problem & then offer me a paid resolution, the tech support guy connected to my desktop & quickly checked my registry for entries and found out I’d had some Alienware optimizing software installed in the past so that he could put me straight to the “buy additional service for at least 59 GBP” option. This should not be the case since I reinstalled windows, but the problem still persists.
Funnily enough other companies’ products are cheaper than Avast’s tech service. If someone actually diagnosed the problem maybe I’d even buy it but seems like the tech support’s main job is to sell its services. ? So disappointing…
Is my only option to switch to another product or does anyone have any last-hope ideas?
Cheers
