If I purchase an Internet Security (1 year), what happens at the end of the year, when the License expires?
Will Avast! still work?
Will it revert back to the Free version and disable all the Pro and Internet Security features?
Will the virus database continue updating?
avast will still work but both program and virus definitions updates will be dropped.
You need to uninstall and install the free version after that period.

When it comes close to expiry, you will get an update notification.
It doesn’t stop working, but you will be unable to get any virus definition or program updates.
It doesn’t revert to the free version, you would have to uninstall AIS, reboot anf install the free version.
