Hello
That’s my first post on this forum so I apologize in advance if I did not post on the right place.
I was a new Avast user and I tried Avast Internet Security with the free 1 month license. I was satisfied and I purchased a license but I’m surprised that the paid license start the day of the purchase and not the day I activated it (when the free trial was finished).
Is it normal ?
Thanks.
That’s correct, license starts from purchase date.
I lost only 5 days but I think it would be friendly to advise the new users when they purchase their first license
While I agree, a new user would normally purchase when the trial expires imo.
It is perfectly normal.
When you take a subscription on a magazine, it starts when you take the subscription not when you start reading the magazine.
Another thing is that formats of activation codes/license files are changing over time.
e.g. now it is xxx-yyy and next year it can be xxx-yyy-zzz
Hello
I have used many AV programs and I never had this kind of problem; the license always starts the first day of its activation.
I’m not sure that a magazine and a software are comparable
You didn’t loos anything. You had use of the product on the house for 25 days. Then you purchased the license and started
using the product as a paid user.
The free trial is up to 30 days and ends when you either remove it or, decide to start actually using it and paying for it.
Hi Asklepios,
Yes, our licenses start from the date of purchase. I was under the impression that it was written somewhere in the webpage but I cannot find it now
Anyhow, I extended your license/s by 30 days as compensation
You may need to apply the license again to see the changes. To do so either activate the same code again, or log in to your Avast account (my.avast.com) from the application and click in “Use this license”, or you can as well download them from the Avast account portal.
Cheers!
Hello moroni,
Thank you very much for your kindness
My initial purpose was not to get a compensation but of course I’m very happy
Congratulations to the Avast team 8)
Best regards
