Avast Internet Security on my computer, after spending $200:I want my money back

Hello Everybody,
Far from driving people away from purchasing Avast Products I want to share my history running Avast Internet Security on my computer. I hope through sharing in this Forum my experience, I could get proper guidance in how to get forward from here. First, let me tell you I am new to Windows, and for the last 20 years I have owned and used Apple Computers and Software. My last contact with a PC was long time ago, when PC’s run DOS. So it has been a full year with this Samsung RV511 running Windows 7 Home Premium (64), and a full year running, also, to the Computer Shop for Help. I used the Internet Security Suite provided by the Cable and Internet Provider until last month when I decided to install and run the trial version of Avast Internet Security. At the end of my free subscription and after purchasing a full year of Avastar Protection, I noticed my laptop was running very slow. I ended up purchasing a full year of remote support and have been on the phone to Costa Rica’s Avast Support Number longer than to my girlfriend’s phone. So you can figure out how bad it is… Long made short…after spending almost $200 in advance to keep my files and computer safe and running, something was not working well and after running the scans on a daily basis, it seemed impossible my Avast software wouldn’t stop any treats, nor find an infected file…too quiet to be truth. Efectively, there was something wrong. Malware, Spyware, and manywares more , detected after my favorite Computer Repair Shop, who stated that Avast was not installed correctly and after installed and run Malwarebytes, infections were found. I felt like Avast hired a Goal keeper for my Team, but he stood the whole month giving his back to the game…So he reinstalled Avast and suggested I should call Costa Rica again… which I did. Always friendly, Support spend several hours remotely connected to my computer for hours that night. I stayed up late next to my laptop following with attention every instance, trying to learn. But the next day, the problem was still there. I kept returning several times calling the Support number, and every time a technician will spend hours and will assure me the registry problem was fixed, but at the end and to this date I have to say after the 4 times allowing remote Service and no fix, , sadly reckon, I have started to lose faith and looking forward to spend a fortune between the costs added of buying a second hand Apple, and pay back my friend however is the cost of the borrowed laptop in disgrace. I am giving up calling Support for help as i try here one last chance, just hoping for the best. The registry continues to show AVG and Norton traces of the antivirus programs I was running before Avastar, and that still come back to hunt me day and nights. I do not know if there are other issues beside those. I will now remain waiting for suggestions, or for a chance to ask for my many back. Thank you for reading.

Have you tried going to AVG and Norton and downloading their removal tools to delete the remnants ? if you haven’t run their tools then that is probably why you are having issues, after cleaning remnants of previous AV’s then I’d suggest a clean install of avast to alleviate corruption.

Why didn’t you come to the forum in the first place for support ??? it’s free here
