Avast Internet security on win8 has killed my mouse and keyboard

After installing avast av (and then successfully scanning) a subsequent installation of the internet security trial has stopped my laptops’ mousepad and keyboard from working. I have attached a usb mouse, which works, but I still can’t type, so most tasks are pretty impossible. The keyboard says it is not registered (code 19) and the mouse says something like insufficient recources (code 10). Someone please help! I used to be pretty technical, but after a 10 year break from IT i’m feeling a bit inadequate! I have seen a similar post re avast9 , and saw everybody telling the poster that the problem was with windows. It is not. Avast has somehow unregistered these devices, and the windows install in my case was completely clean. However, i’m more interested in just getting my devices working again. Booting in safe mode is not an option as THE KEYBOARD DOESN’T WORK ANYMORE. I don’t want to have to buy a usb keyboard, and don’t really think that is a workable solution.

The new beta addresses this issue https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=159263.0

Don’t know if this sounds stupid but…it makes no mention of mousepad issues, only keyboard, and also can you let me know if I will have to buy a usb keyboard to install?

answered my own question…i’m now using on-screen keyboard temporarily. (programs-ease of access-on screen keyboard)
