Avast Internet Security Settings - keep changing themselves

Hi all

I’ve got Avast Internet Security, paid for 3 PCs. Have it installed currently on 2 machines, mine and partners. I have changed a lot of the settings, so that, for instance:

  • Enable Avast email signature OFF (default ON)
  • Show popup offers for other Avast products OFF (default ON)
  • Password Protection OFF (default ON)
  • Software Updater OFF (default ON)
  • Etc, etc. I have changed about 10-15 of these settings

They stay that way on my machine, but partner’s machine constantly resets itself, so all these settings return to default, he gets popups, etc. It’s happened three times since I bought the product in March.

We both have the same PC, bought at the same time and configured identically by me.

Any ideas how I can fix this? Or recommendations for a better product?

Make sure any preinstalled av is removed completely.

Perform a repair of avast.
If that doesn’t solve it perform a clean installation of avast.

Whilst this probably won’t resolve this unusual behaviour, but once you get it setup as you want it, backup the settings (just makes it easier to restore).

AvastUI > Settings > General - scroll to the bottom of the window and select ‘Back up settings.’

Note, is the PC with the trouble being run as a limited user ?
