I have installed the security software but now i can’t access the internet, i can only gain access by disabling it.

• AVs you were using before avast IS

windows vista 32 bit
version 5.0.677
before avast i used windows firewall and defender which i disabled, but still no internet access.
i also have superantospyware but it is not enabled.

I can’t see any problems with your configuration.
Are you sure there is no other firewall-/security- software installed…?
If yes, we should try a clean install of avast.

1. Follow the instructions here: http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility
2. Download the latest avast IS: http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/setup_ais.exe
3. Install it and restart.
