Slows down computer like crazy, and even legit website web pages won’t load.
Try to disable firewall, and asks me for my email and password, then says my password is wrong.
Reset password, even tells me my new password “great! good secure password”
Get confirmation for my new password.
Get the same “password is incorrect”
WTF??
Awful. I’m wiling to be a paying customer (since your free service is great) but this is what I get.
Same experience long time ago I upgraded for some sort of Avast for business since I use my laptop for business and I want to be an honest guy following your conditions of not using the free Avast for business, but ended up with an awful experience and reverted back to your excellent free service. I am admitting to you now that I’m “illegally” using your free service for business, but it’s NOT my fault coz I wanted to and tried to pay but your pay-plans are horrible.
By the way I’m able to login on the website but not in the user interface which keeps saying “incorrect” password. Or, are the usernames/pass for your website and interface different? Why the heck would it be different; super confusing.
1]
Every av is slowing down a system as it is using system resources.
avast does not block legitimate websites unless something suspicious is detected on that domain/IP
2]
avast free doesn’t have a firewall.
avast can be password protected, but it is never asking (nor does it need) your email address

What password are you talking about ?
Where/how did you reset it ?
You are wrong about the free/business.
There are occasions where you are allowed to use the free standalone version on a business system.
avast even has a free cloud version for businesses.
Ofcourse the password for your account and the avast tool can be different.
Ever heard about security (never use the same password in multiple places) ?
To reset the password for the tool, simply perform a clean installation of it.
I am currently using the paid Internet Security with Firewall (upgraded from free) and that’s when all the fresh problems started (not to be confused with the problems long time ago when I upgraded to Avast Business End Point Protection, and then reverted back to free because of the business version problems).
What caused me to lose my temper (wanted to smash my laptop) hence the headline was clicking on Settings (I think) on user interface would ask me for a password and said I had the wrong password (forgot it) and so I’d reset. After resetting it still didn’t work and kept me in the endless loop of resetting.
Not happening anymore (no need to login) so I guess it took time for your system to ‘propagate’ the new password.
Why couldn’t Avast add a simple note like “it will take 10 min. to take effect” instead of driving me nuts? Awful.
I have enough patience to wait even 10 hours (instead of 10 minutes) if the system told me to.
It is not “patience” if you’re told that you have the wrong password when in fact you do, and you don’t know what’s wrong, and you’re in an endless loop.
