avast internet security to free avast

hello

is it possible to install free avast from internet security already installed in machine without uninstalling internet security and downloadingwhole free avast exe file?

i want to uninstall internet security in my another machine and want to install free avast in it

how to do??

Uninstall the internet security via add/remove and follow instructions. After that download and run the Avast Uninstall Utility in normal mode and it will show you a message that this tool will automatically run your computer in safe mode. Click yes and follow the instructions.

Then install the free version of avast. After installation has finished avast will do a quick scan. Once that is done restart your computer manually and register.

i dont want to install avast free from 1st step.

i want to install from pre installed internet security.

when we upgrade avast free into avast security then it automatically extracts firewall files etc so how to again unextract those files for avast free

Just now I remember that I asked a similar question last year. Here it is https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=155039.msg1126569#msg1126569 and read DavidR 1st reply about converting from internet security to free version

Here’s a video that shows you how easy it is:

You do not need to remove the paid version and the go through the install process all over again.

i followed as showed in video but avast interent security is completely unistalled and also avast free is not there in my pc now.

it unistalled everything with avast free also. now no avast software in pc now.

i clicked unistall avast from add remove programs and it unistalled whole avast. no free avast installed after removing internet security.

that video seems wrong now. i have to install avast free now from begining.

It’s best to clean install when moving from one version to another, there will be less chance of something going wrong in the future.

I’d suggest you now run the avastclear tool to remove any remnants and install a fresh copy of Avast.

i reinstalled avast free without awcleaner.

i willface problem anytime if i not used awcleaner?

and switched on windows firewall in that pc bcoz avast internet security is removed and free avast installed. so it is safe or not to use windows firewall with avast free?

It may not be a problem - but generally when switching avast versions we recommend doing a clean install as outlined, as in the long run it may be quicker.

Also when running the avast uninstall utility you will be prompted to reboot into safe mode…click “yes”.
By using safe mode the uninstaller will be able to remove the low level drivers.

Not to argue but, if you follow the directions, the changeover works flawlessly as shown in the video.
(I’m sure Avast also tested is numerous times before making it available.)

I’ve done it that way countless times on my and other peoples systems and never had a problem.
If for some reason you do run into a problem then you have no choice but to follow the much more time consuming
process of uninstalling, running the removal tool and re-installing.

No argument here. Just wanted the OP to know about all options.
If possible “keep it simple”.
