AVAST Internet Security v8 and XP

I paid for 3 person license for Avast Internet Security. On windows XP it loads but then disables my keyboard and mouse. It works fine on my two W7 laptops. Tech support told me my motherboard on XP machine was bad but that is not the case. Once I uninstall Internet Security and install free AVAST 8 it works just fine. Tech support left me hanging, told me they could not help me. Any suggestions on how I might be able to use my third paid license?

Thanks for your reply. I used AVAST Internet Security last year also, and AVAST free for 5 years before that. Running no new or addl antivirus software. Same system, same specs, always played fine before.

  1. Download avast! Internet Security: http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/avast_internet_security_setup.exe
  2. Follow instructions: http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed avast! versions…!!)
  3. Reinstall avast! with the downloaded installer from point 1.
  4. Reboot.
