avast!Internet Security

I purchased avast!Internet Security as a part of an upgrade. It won’t allow me to start the avast! Firewall. I had to go back and download the free version of avast!7, and now, I don’t have access to avast!Internet Security which cost me $19.99 on my Visa. I can’t get into technical support to submit a ticket/work order. Is this normal for this site to “not support” their product?

  1. Download avast! Internet Security: http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/avast_internet_security_setup.exe
  2. Follow instructions: http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed avast! versions…!!)
  3. Reinstall avast! with the downloaded installer from point 1.
  4. Reboot.

Prior to installing AIS what was your firewall and how did you uninstall/disable it (in the case of windows firewall).

Perhaps one of the moderators can move this to the correct sub-forum, avast! Free/Pro/Suite http://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=2.0 I almost ignored it because it is in the avast! Additional products sub-forum.
