I have got a Licensed Avast Internet Security.i reinstalled it after some crash problems and now the Firewall function is not getting activated.
It is showing Reinstall using Avast Installer which i did but it shows error in installing.

I even downloaded a new installer but same prob.
That Firewall is showing ‘STOPPED’…It was working properly before re-installing.

PLZZ HELP

Repair avast!:

  1. Control Panel → Add/Remove programs → avast!
  2. Click on ‘Repair’.
  3. Follow instructions.
  4. Reboot.

I would try the Avastclear tool in safe mode and then reboot and re-install.

Maybe if you had tried the tool, you would realize that it requests to run in safe mode after an automatic reboot.

Yes Bob, I know that. I used the tool. Maybe if the OP used the tool, he would be able to install AIS successfully. You see Bob, I have no idea of what the OP knows so I tell them what they should do. A repair does not always work, it did not for me.

If you know it then why are you telling people to boot into Safe mode in order to run the removal tool ?
No Longer needed.
Trying a repair is always the first step.
If that doesn’t work, then a clean install will be recommended.

I explained why. I do not know what the OP knows. A repair has to have a reboot as well. But I see you not pointing that out to Asyn. Maybe you need to practice what is in your signature Bob. Not everyone that uses Avast is an Expert at it like yourself, so I try to help out a new poster more than I would try to help someone that has used Avast for years. It is needed to be run in safe mode as it will tell you to if you try to run Avast Clear not in safe mode.
