I purchased the Avast Internet security a few days ago. When I downloaded it Google and Youtube changed to the german site. Google I could change back but I can’t with Youtube. It is obviously something with Avast because I had no issues before this. I am American and currently living in South Korea. Korea and Germany aren’t even remotely close and my IP shows that I am in Korea. How do I change it back to normal?
Login to your Google/Youtube account and change your preferences there.
I already did that. Nothing changed. It still recognizes it as being Germany.
Are the time and date on your computer correct? ???
Yes and yes. Computer is set for Seoul time. IP is Korean. This started right when I purchased avast.
Do you (or did you) have (had) any other security software installed? (avast free, avg or…)
What are the language and keyboard settings you are using within windows?
What language is your windows version? (is your windows legitimate?)
I had Avast free and my license was about to expire. I purchased a year of the avast internet security and it downloaded over the free version (I’m guessing). That is when google/youtube changed. I bought the laptop in the states. Keyboard is set to English as is the language on the computer. Also have Windows 7 and it is a legit version
- Download Avastclear, Rejzors uninstall tool and the appropriate Avast program edition
Note : You need to be ONLINE during the install (sometimes online installer works whereas offline doesn’t)

- Uninstall Avast by control panel [If you don’t have Avast in control Panel go to #4]
- Uninstall in safe mode using Avastclear.
- Run Rejzors Uninstall Utility in Normal Mode (removes traces avastclear doesn’t) - reboot.
- Install the version you downloaded.
- Reboot.
And nothing…
Have you already closed your browser and deleted ALL temporary files?
CCleaner does a good job for this.
Still nothing with that.
Hmm, are you using a proxy?
