I recently purchased this program through an offer through a trial pay program. When I try to install the activation key it doesn’t work.
i would contact official support, this forum wont be able to help you much with these kinds of license problems
Of course we can help you here.
Usually trial periods lets you use it for 30 days, at which time you then need to decide if you are going to continue to use it and need to pay for it just prior to the 30-day expiration period.
What version and product did you install?
Did you install the program first? If not, you need to download, then install, then reboot prior to activating anything.
Did you try inserting the activation code you received via email through the Avast GUI while you were online (on the Internet)?
This link might also help you https://support.avast.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=520&nav=0,2.
You can also contact Avast http://www.avast.com/contact-form.php?loadStyles and use the drop down menu > Sales Inquires > and complete the form while we assist you here. Thank you.
Well trial pay is something in which we pay for some other product and get the other product we want for free. In his case the other product is avast and he has got it free after paying for some other product. But his problem is that his license is not working… and I think that can be solved by either trial pay people or avast sales department or license department (if they exists)
So is he using it for free as a trial or did he pay for it?
Eh… You buy some other product you want to try and are supposed to get a full (paid) license for what you really want (avast! Pro/AIS in this case) for “free”. At least I hope they do not offer to pay for the free version. :
As said above, better contact avast! sales with details.
Actually when we pay for something OK LEAVE IT I GIVE YOU A EXAMPLE
Suppose I want to buy avast Pro 6.0 so when I will click on buy it may redirect me trialpay.com website and will ask me to pay for Winzip and they will provide me avast Pro 6.0 license key for free.
So technically he is using a paid license which he got for free from Trial Pay Inc.
I hope you got my point…?
Regards
Ash
Did you receive a licence file? Something that ends with .avastlic?
you clearly did not understand what the OP is referring to. TrialPay is a system to purchase products with, it has nothing to do with the Trial version of avast
Well, in a certain manner it has. I think when you trialpay anything and choose Avast as the free extra, you will still have to download the trial Avast version and then use the licence-file that someone should have sent you to turn the trial version into a licensed one.
Right?
Obviously, this thread is not heading anywhere. The OP already said the license file he was provided with does not work for him. He should contact Avast sales dept. directly about the details of “purchase” (i.e., which site etc.) so they can investigate whether the key is legit or not and act accordingly.
TrialPay appears to be a legitimate outfit.
They list a bunch of Avast’s competitors as partners but not Avast
https://www.trialpay.com/software-publishers/
They were running a Valentines Day Special for Avast Pro along with IObit ASC and some other products

and clicked on the top link I got this

My suggestion: Get your software either directly from the vendor, CNET, or File Hippo.
As Zyndstoff asked did you receive a file ending [color=red].avastlic [color=black]
If so enter the license into the GUI. If you didn’t get the file “.avastlic” someone might have ripped you off. Use the avast.com website to be safe.
