My church recently purchased Avast Internet Security (AIS) 5.0 as a upgrade to Avast Pro 4.8. I did the install on multiple Windows platforms. A problem occurred after AIS 5.0.418 (initial download) performed a program upgrade. Basically, some of the operating system submenus went transparent. Only parts of the border could be seen. For example, when clicking Start/My Recent Documents, the submenu of documents is transparent (except for a slight border). This error was verified by reinstalling AIS 5.0.418, checking for the submenu, upgrading the program (current version as of 4/21/10), and rechecking the submenu. The submenu is present with AIS 5.0.418 but is missing after the program upgrade. In addition, the submenu for window groupings on taskbar (allowing selection of opened windows of like applications, e.g., IE) is also missing.
The machine configuration is Windows XP Pro, SP2 (fully updated), x64 Edition.
