Avast IS 7 & Comodo Firewall

Hi, just had to get a new PC and have installed Internet Security V7. I also have Comodo firewall and Defence + activated(free version).

I dont really understand all about firewalls and anti virus, malware, spyware etc and would appreciate a bit of help to have a good security set-up

In Avast I have the firewall active but I am not sure if I should have two firewalls running at the same time ?

I also have Malwarebytes too for on demand scans.

Roboform is another product I have to run in my browser (internet explorer) but not sure if any configuration is required with Avast/Comodo?

I would be grateful if anyone could let me know if my current configuration is OK and whether anything else is recommended.

Never run 2firewalls at the same time,remove/uninstall Comodo Firewall and use only Avast Internet Security firewall. :wink:

If you trying to set up Roboform with Avast firewall,run Roboform and Avast firewall will create best settings for this program (Roboform)

If you have problems after following the instructions from JuninhoSlo, it is possible that because you had 2 firewalls installed on your machine that Avast Internet Security (AIS) got corrupted. If this is the case, try an Avast Repair:

XP Users:

  • Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove programs > Avast Antivirus.
  • Scroll down and choose Repair function in the pop-up window.
  • Reboot.

Vista & Win7 Users:

  • Control Panel
  • Programs & Features
  • Uninstall a Program > Select Avast Antivirus
  • Click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair
  • Click Next and follow.
  • Reboot.

If this doesn’t work, then you will need to uninstall AIS using the Avast Uninstaller Tool http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility - save it to your desktop. Make sure you have your AIS download file saved somewhere on your HDD before you uninstall. Then follow the instructions to uninstall and do a fresh install, reboot, update your definitions, register your product.
