Avast is a great product...to a point

When I receive a notification that Avast wants to update my system, I’m always glad they’re on top of things, but
I worry when whatever Avast is doing on my computer, it is also spawning pages and pages of other stuff which may…or may not…
be from Avast. (Like what is FoodBuzz???) Do these offsite things carry viruses and similar sneaky things, as well? How trusting should I be that anything showing up during an Avast virus update has the blessing of Avast and some assurance that these popups are also virus free?

. (Like what is FoodBuzz???)
this is not from avast, it seems you have some browser hijacker crap
FoodBuzz is a potentially unwanted application, which is presented as a free browser extension that allows users to get information about recipes. This program has ability to get inside the system without user's knowledge and additionally display continuous pop-up ads and in-text link advertisements leading to other websites. No matter that they look like harmless notifications informing about third party products, services, promotions or offers, clicking on these links may end up with the installation of additional software or even malware. That's why we recommend eliminating FoodBuzz from your computer if you haven't installed it manually or if you are bored by its continuous alerts.
