Hello,

Anyone testing the public beta version of Webroot SecureAnywhere with Avast IS or Pro? Any issues with the Avast sandbox/auto-sandbox? I am using PrevxSOL facebook edition and I do not have any issues with it. All exclusions and override’s are in place. I hear that PrevxSOL or Prevx will soon be replaced by this Webroot app but am still searching if some of the users here are keen on trying it out or have tried or are trying it as I write this.

Interested to hear observations specfically with Avast.

Thank you.

I believe that WSA is a anti-Malware and AV product. Running more than one AV at a time is not recommended. Now you may be able to turn off the AV feature in WSA. If that is the case then you could try it without the AV feature turned on.

Hi guys,

Thanks for the reply. I have registered at the Webroot site and have actually downloaded the app. But still not have tried it out with AIS.

@Nesivos,

I am still using PrevxSOL facebook edition now and it’s also an AV but I did not encounter any issues. I am only adamant as to the development of this freeware because it’s been months since there is no update to the program.

On this beta version I read somewhere there that it can be turned-off but I was looking somewhere in he area of custom install…like what I do with AIS(without the firewall). I’ll keep that in mind thanks :slight_smile:

@ams963,

I was reading the thread at Wilders’ and I happend to see THIS http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=305134&page=16 Have you by any chance experienced this one? May I know what is your settings with AIS? Maybe exclusions with AIS regarding WSA and vice versa…
Thanks:)

Have you tried to update the avast! program since you installed WSA?

I have been running Avast! Pro with Webroot since the beginning of the closed beta; no issues so far with either one.

OK I downloaded/installed ASW. Using it on a W7 x32 pc. Seems to function well but I cant do a custom install on it’s component I’d have to disable the firewall component which leaves the icon tray “greyed out-with exclamation point”. I was looking for the old SOL icon on top of the browser but there is none.

I got FP’s also which previously Prevx did not determined as malware. Scanned via VT and all was clean. I sent the links to Webroot support the other day.

As for AvastIS seems to be no problem/compatibility here. Updates fine and dandy:) Still observing here. Thanks for the reply guys:)
