Avast started blocking a particular webpage for to-three weeks ago. I have tried Firefox, Safari og Chrome. The webpage is http://www.fluefiskesiden.no/
I found this link https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=178897.msg1266175#msg1266175 and when I do this: “Go to Settings > active protection > webshield > Customize and un-check https scanning” the website works. But when unchecking https scanning, do I then have good enough protection?
In the same link Eddy says “There is no need for that Tangy” and says “The solution is to update to avast version 2016”. I uninstalled Avast and installed it again now from https://www.avast.com/no-no/mac, but the same website is still blocked.
When I see preferences for my Avast, it says "Avast Mac Security 2015, version 11.5 (45630).
Any other solution to this?
Here is the message I can see with Consoll on my Mac, “com.avast.proxy: Error connecting to 2001:840:4245::3: Operation timed out”.
I have Mac OS X El Capitan 10.11.3
The post was in a avast for Windows forum.
In the Windows version the problem with https scanning is solved.
That is why I said to update to version 2016.
The version numbering for MAC is different.
The beauty of HTTPS is that nothing can see/intercept the traffic, but obviously this prevents virus scanning. With SSL certificates now free via the LetsEncrypt project we will likely see malware sites use HTTPS so you do want to have HTTPS scanning on.
Now my exclusion don’t work. I have set both www.fluefiskesiden.no and fluefiskesiden.no in the exclusion, but the site won’t load/work.
It looks like I have to find an another antivirus program for my Mac. But I still wonder why this happens. For some weeks ago there were no problem and on my other hardisk with another older version of Mac OS X and Avast, the site works.
When I see «About» for my Avast, it says "Avast Mac Security 2015, version 11.7 (45814) and 16021801. I tried “update now” on both virus definition and on program and it says that I have the latest version.
When I look at “Consol” tool/program it says: 20.02.2016 09.27.21,170 com.avast.proxy[360]: Error connecting to 2001:840:4245::3: Operation timed out
Is this telling something?
