I don’t know my Avast password and want to delete Avast inasmuch that I cannot get to Avast without a password. There does not appear to be a workaround for obtaining a new password. Avast is interferring with my backblaze backup and it is very, very annoying.
Avast offers an official tool called Avast Uninstall Utility that bypasses the uninstall password.
Step by step:
Download the Avast Uninstall Utility tool (avastclear.exe):
Official link: Avast Removal Tool | Download Avast Clear | Avast
Restart your computer in Safe Mode:
Press Windows + R, type msconfig → Go to System Boot → check Safe Boot and restart.
Or hold Shift while clicking Restart → go to “Troubleshoot” > “Advanced options” > “Startup Settings”.
Run avastclear.exe in Safe Mode.
It will automatically detect the installed Avast. Click Remove and then Restart your computer.
No password is required for this tool.
