It’s been more than 3 weeks I’m experiencing problems to use my Gmail beyond the login - Inbox using either Firefox or Avast SafeZone, in both my Lenovo ThinkPad/Windows 7 Professional and my Acer Aspire One, for it keeps sayin’ "Oops… the system encountered a problem… retrying (ERROR #007) - Retrying… and never gets to work, whereas it only does in Google Chrome and Internet Explorer in my Lenovo Desktop and in my Android Smartphone. After different attempts to fix the problem, I’ve discovered that Avast is Blocking Gmail access, for it works when Avast is disabled for 10 mins. Please fix this bug or send help. Thanx.

Same problem since last udpate avast free edition, error appear not all the time…
I have the latest edition of free avast, last firefox 51.0.1 and W8.1 64
I only use firefox, and for hotmail IE.
Any help should be great

I have just logged in to my gmail account without issue on this XP Pro system and the latest firefox and the avast beta build 17.2.2287.
I also happen to have an acer aspire one and have just logged in to gmail with firefox but with avast 12.3.2280, without issue. Notable it triggered a new logon and sought confirmation (email to my phone) as I hadn’t previous used this system to connect to my gmail account.

Well, when this error appear, impossible to save mail before sending mail and impossible to quit the message.
I mean if i want to clik on Mail Box it said to me impossible to save message…
I also have a mini pc hp with Seven starter with last avast free antivirus, will test tomorow morning to see if i have same problem too.

Well same problem with Seven SP3 with last free avast released.
What i noticed is the problem remain when i answer to a message in the mail box.
It’s hard to send a message and impossible a lot of time to record the message.
But if i create a new message, it’s ok to record the message and no problem to send it to one or several people.
So don’t know what’s wrong really.
Any help should be fine by Pro avast TK.
If someone have this problem and now solved, no problem i’m interested too

If it is working with XP but not later Windows versions, it could be the behavior shield that is causing the problem as that shield is not present/working on XP.

I never noticed this problem with the previous version of avast free.
I mean, maybe some internet problem but no error messsage from gmail or avast.
So now, how to solve it?
I saw on several website that some people disable something https control or something like this.
But uncheck this for one site is not good for the other?
Something is not good inside avast program?
I don’t know really, but it’s very strange too.
So is there other people hint by the random problem on 7, 8, 8.1 or W10?
And if someone found a solution, let us now

Well still remain the problem…
Not on IE in Seven or 8.1
But i did a test and it was a chance, i uncheck " signature on avast in mail "
As soon as i did it, no problem for save mail, no problem to quit gmail, no problem to send it…
Is there people who have this problem to check what i did, and also Avast Tk to see if the problem come from part of avast?
Any help should be great ^^

Not knowing which version (v8, v9, v10, etc.) of avast it’s rather difficult to pinpoint the problem.
Try a repair…Control Panel>Programs and Features>double click “avast”>click “repair”>reboot.

Well just before repair i did again test:
On IE nothing happen all is good that what i wrote in a previous message, so does IE communicate to a better way with avast that Firefox?
Still before repair i unchecked " enable avast email signature" and all is good and working fine on firebox???
So can we say that Avast and firefox( last released 51) have communication protocol???

On Firefox It depend of which name of Email, i mean, hotmail, yahoo, aol…
But if i uncheck once again " enable avast email signature" all is good on firefox with all type of Email.
So what can we say?
Bug program with " enable avast email signature" option or bug of firefox latest released 51.0.1???

It sounds like a bug in Firefox.
If you view email in a browser the web shield should protect you.
May I suggest you file a bug report with Firefox.

It’s hard to find something on firefox support, i search for gmail problem and no show similar problem.
For me, there’s something wrong with the option on avast…
Since you only have that problem when using Firefox, there must be something in Firefox or something you have added to Firefox that causing this.

But never had this problem with previous version of Avast… :-\
I tried other test using Firefox in safe mode (all thing unloaded ) and same problem but no matter if i unchecked the avast option… ;D
Also tried with firefox in " private mode " same thinks :-[
So no problem wit IE ok, maybe avast and IE are more compatible, that Firefox???
I’m no a specialist but i had the chance to found that " option email avast signature " make trouble on firefox, it doesn’t mean that firefox had problem too.
Once again when i uncheck the option all running fine… :o :
Will wait new version of avast don’t know when the next will be released, and see if with new update of Firefox it change something. 
At this time, will unchecked this avast option to make it run better…

To report a bug/issue in Firefox…GUI>press Alt>click “bookmarks”>in the drop down menu you will see a folder “Mozilla”> from there you can figure it out.

I also submit a ticket to Avast Tk.
They answered to me within 2h, incredible speed ;D
First Step they said to me try a repair. :-\
As i did it before and doesn’t work they said to me to try this: 8)
Uninstall Avast using Avast clear and install Free Avast with full Avast.exe off line
Well it seems to work fine now ;D
Will wait few day before say it’s ok, as i must do it the same on my hp mini on Seven Starter 32.
Next time to avoid problem, will uninstall all before new version.
Maybe something wrong inside update which make trouble with option " Enabled signature Email Avast ".
Wasn’t so close to say that something wasn’t good with this option.
Very fast answer for Avast much appreciate this 8)
