I am not a systems engineer.
I took my laptop to the local University to have serval network drives mapped. While connected (wirelessly) to the university network, we could not connect any network drives unless we turned File System Shield, Web Shield, Secure DNS, and Firewall ALL off. I have tried to see if there was just one of these at fault, but it seems to require all three of these to be turned off before the laptop can see any network drives.
When I got home, I connected using the university VPN (Cisco Client). Again, I cannot access any network drives until I turn the active protection off.
Once the drives are connected; I can turn all the active protection back on and still access the network drives normally.
How can I get these drives to connect without having to jump through the hoops of opening Avast settings and turning everything off a couple times per day?
Thanks for any and all assistance. University does not support Avast questions.
